But apparently the police need them, and we should always trust them.... I'd also like to note the patches on some of the full cammo wearing guys, they are police ase well.
Just some interesting sights in pictures from normal americans in their own homes... They are only there to uphold the laws? Correct? What if the law changes, to a 6pm curfew? Not allowed to own a gun?
It was pathetic, wasn't it? We closed down one of the largest cities in the country to hunt down a teenager. Wow, the Boston PD must be so proud of themselves. I hope none of the wet their pants during all of excitement. While I feel bad for the MIT guard who got gunned down, the massive over-reaction that followed was disgraceful.

The skinny, bloody 19 year old set off a bomb that killed and injured a lot of people, then shot a cop in cold blood. No one knew if he was going to try to hurt more people, or if he was hiding in a boat.

That, and the fact that they've found a bunch more pipe bombs in the older brother's apartment, and arrested a woman who was living there with him. I was watching cable news this am (can't remember which channel?) and they were speculating that it looked like they could have been modeling the attacks on the Madrid train bombings, where there were numerous attacks ending in a suicide bombing. It looks like they weren't done killing people.
LE did a remarkable job with this--they captured them in 4 days with a minimal loss of additional life, and they took the second brother (and the woman in the apartment) alive so they can find out who was involved, why it happened, and if there are more bombs (and terrorists) floating around the city. It was the best possible outcome, and they deserve all the praise we can give them.
I just see lots of black rifles and high capacity magazines. That apparently no one needs. And nor just that... marching on peoples private property through civlian neighborhoods.
Places where the majority don't want them in private hands already have or are in the process getting new laws against them. Places that don't fear them and don't suffer from high crime rates let law abiding people have and keep them with little hassle.
Leave it at that... Why the hell do people in New York City or Chicago care so much about whether people hundreds of miles away in Wyoming or Kentucky have neutered "assault weapons" and high capacity magazines?
And if it's fear of such things crossing borders, what makes them think drawing the borders a little further out will keep such things from finding their way in? Mexico has laws against private ownership of ANY guns but they are awash in weapons nevertheless.
