The fight for $15 an hour for fast food workers in Chicago starts today. Fast food companies profits soar, while minimum wage workers barely make an existence.
One issue most people overlook is how the United States actually subsidizes these companies, most of the workers are eligible for food stamps and Medicaid, because of their poverty, the working poor. Those who put down Obamacare, should realize that Obamacare is all about ending the free ride for these companies, to not provide benefits to employees.
I am in solidarity with these workers. No fast food for me today.
Again, what's wrong with people striking to ask for more? Even if it's unrealistic, don't we have the right to be delusional in America?
When do you ever get something in this country without asking for it or demanding it?
It's not as if any of you have anything to lose. You'll get your double bacon cheeseburgers, but don't ask the guy that serves them to keep his mouth shut. What he demands from his boss is not your business. Just eat your damn food.
What is going to happen when Big Macs cost 8 bucks and nobody eats at McDonald's anymore? Are the new fast food unions going to petition the government to force people to eat at McDonald's?

Just a question....what do you tip the pizza delivery guy?
Do you ask him what his "need' is, or does that job have a socially determined wage attached?
Who determines the value of your work?
What about the person who cuts your hair? Do you pay more based on their need?
Tell that to CEOs whose wages (which they have the luxury of setting themselves) have risen more than 300x that of the average worker.
Let me guess; you believe a money manipulator, social smoozer, or paper pusher on Wall Street deserves to make infinitely more than a Doctor or Scientist?
The more money you make the more it was deserved and earned, and the less you make the less that it was, right?

What? No 'living wage' for fast food burger flippers????
Can you read? It was $15 per hour. Quite a difference.
Why is there a difference? Paying an employee $15 or $50 for an entry level, unskilled position, what does it matter, may as well pay them $60 an hour?
So, a question to everyone who has a problem with this...
Fact is it's getting a lot more expensive to make a living in this country. Anyone who denies that is lying to themselves.
So based on that here is my question, would you rather:
The people who work jobs like this don't make enough money and they have to turn to the government to help them make a living?
Or they just die because they can't afford to live?
