But, in their defense, that's because Bush was president.
Bush should have wrapped up Afcrapistan by 2005 instead of leaving it to fester.

Maybe some folks could see that coming. If so, they were right. Because that's exactly what he did.

Blast that entire area into glass. It's the only way we'll win.

It's an Op-Ed article on Moore's website. Fine. It's the author's opinion. An author who doesn't expect anyone to think he's fair, balanced or unbiased. Not much different than posts we see on web forums such as this and others. Over the objections of the 'hawks' the President certainly seems to be winding-down the intervention/war in Afghanistan. If Bush had concentrated on the terrorists in Afghanistan instead of telling us lies about Iraq and being responsible for the killing and maiming of reportedly hundreds of thousands of people there ... we would have been out of Afghanistan by now. Yes, keep the pressure on President Obama to get out of Afghanistan. Then before 'closing the door' there someone should toss in a neutron bomb. End the trouble forever.

More U.S. Troops Killed in Afghanistan Under Obama Than Under Bush
This really is no surprise. The Taliban and al Qaeda were in Afghanistan and although Bush started there, he got distracted by Iraq, that had nothing to do with 9/11. In Iraq, 4,222 Americans died during the Bush Admin compared to 264 under Obama. (In 2012 there was 1.)

Obama promised in the 2008 campaign to wind down Iraq and devote the resources to fighting al Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Even then, we'll lose. Seems politicians refuse to learn the lessons of history. Long after we leave Iraq and Afcrapistan, those places will be full of Iraqis and Afghans. Funny how the neocons always want them to turn into us, instead of being Iraqis and Afghans or whoever else they decide should be us instead of themselves. And no matter how many times we try to turn foreigners into us, they stubbornly stay who they are. And when we burn their cities, occupy their contries and kill their children, they just don't latch onto American style democracy the way we seem to think they should.

Remember Chicken Dick Cheney saying, "We'll be greeted as liberators."

Buncha ungrateful slugs, huh...

Yep. Ol' Chicken Dick knows how wars work, alright.

Innocent Iraqi civilians don't count, unless it was Bush bombing them instead.

We should have carpet bombed that cesspool and poisoned their fields after 9/11 as a clear act of REVENGE for American deaths. Revenge is all their primitive culture can understand. Nation-building my butt! The message should go out to those who would do us harm: the ratio will be 1000 of them for every American their country kills.

I did not address allied forces either. The Michael Moore piece specifically referenced American troops, so I limited my scope to that.

I was an early critic of the Iraq War that killed countless Iraqis. I am equally disturbed about Afghan civilians that get hit by our bullets and bombs.

That just isn't accurate. Howard Dean said he would have invaded Afghanistan and attacked al-Qaida without getting waylaid by war in Iraq.
