I would approve of the pastor if he taught the word of God, and was sincere.
I don't see that with this pastor.
I want to like him, but I can't.
He just seems too politically motivated.
And you finally decided to up and leave once he announced that he was a liberal? I understand to a degree where your coming from, my former pastor wasn't too politically motivated yet one time she suggested that we all vote for Obama that alone formed my views on her but that wasn't the main reason why I ended up leaving her congregation. But if you feel as if you don't fit into the agenda of the Church, then maybe its best you find another Church that is more conservative but I think that would be hard to find in the LA area.

It's not so much the church - the denomination is rather liberal.
It started by allowing practices that were not condoned by the parent organization.
That attracted me for a while - until I studied the Bible and realized that my church was in contradiction with many biblical principles.
I have been attending a Calvary Chapel sporadically - but have not yet committed to it as a regular attendee.
Calvary Chapel is all over southern California, and they are a much better Bible based denomination, but I have a hard time leaving my home church.
I was originally baptised as a Cathoilic (as a baby) and baptized at 12 at my current Protestant church - but I question the liberal bent that it has now adopted.
It's basically a Liberal/Socialist interpretation of the Bible, based on Acts and the Gospels (ie: the more socialist doctrines, brotherhood of man etc..)
Quite popular in South America - Chavez (a Catholic) was a follower.
All this crying over a pastor who's liberal. Why does a man's political view points have anything to do with his religious teachings?
They're completely separate.
You're just afraid to do your own thing, hence why you cling to some institution. Grow some independence will you?
