It's not possible to find a perfect church because they all have humans in them, but I would try to find an Independent Baptist Church in your area. They are as close to following the Word of God as any established denomination I have found. May God guide you to the right fellowship.

Institutions is what it's all about. That, rules and authority.

I agree, step out and find something new. Only don't be surprised if you never find exactly what you think you should. Organized religion is always a disappointment in the end because it's organized by humans who say one things while doing another. .

Um. Are you sure he didn't say, "Think globally, act locally?" That is the hippie bumper sticker slogan from the 60s.

There is a local Reformed Baptist church nearby which I have attended and liked.

The problem is that they are further away than the churches that I am attending, and one church seems OK.

He started to say that humans are responsible for global warming, when this is still a controversial topic.

He mentioned Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and even conceded that global warming has occurred in periods before fossil fuels, as Gore states in his book.

He said that Gore was mainly concerned with our own civilization - not the Earth - which will regenerate on its own - which makes it rather clear that Gore just wants to sell books and expand control and regulation, which is the wet dream of all liberals.

The pastor even mentioned Earth Day.

I thought that was the final straw, until he gave the benediction and said these words:

"Think globally, and live liberally".

So why don't you find a church which supports your beliefs in a young earth, creationism, anti-science, the rapture, bible inerrancy and other such fundamentalist kookery? No doubt, you can easily find one with a pastor who rants about Obama being the anti-Christ and 'libruls' being the devil's spawn I'm sure.

Or are you still plotting and scheming to take over your church yourself?

Question: Are you Episcopalian.....many of their pastors are more liberal than others.

About global warming being controversial.......yeah but not in the scientific community. The controversy is between those who would like to run their industrial interests with no bounds and ordinary citizens who would like to save the air we breathe.

Scientists have examined ice core drillings from the polar regions which indicated the amounts of carbon going back hundreds of years and it's no coincidence that the levels began to increase absolutely, proportionally and incrementally with the birth of the industrial revolution which began in Great Britain in the late 1700's and in America about two hundred years ago.

That is the problem with these modern preachers, they read other books than the bible.

Jesus was a liberal.

The pastor has to walk a fine line between those who put the money on the collection plate every week and what he believes.

Leaving a congregation is a lot like getting a divorce. It is hard to do but once you make the change, you will be happier.

I have no idea what causes the changes in climate. IMO, standing next to a catalytic converter convinces me that we are putting a lot of heat and crap out into the atmosphere.

Maybe the pastor...wanted to thin his flock.
A break-up is two-sided.

Maybe the Pastor saw too many "bad" influences on his flock, and decided to thin the herd.
