But if you feel as if you don't fit into the agenda of the Church, then maybe its best you find another Church that is more conservative but I think that would be hard to find in the LA area.
Actually, there are many true Christian churches in the Southern California area.

It is, after all, the home of the Jesus Movement.

Unfortunately, Harrier's church has never been and is not part of this religious paradigm.

That is why he describes his pastor as being liberal - he just doesn't seem to be true to the Word of God.

It also explains why Harrier is debating staying at this church or joining a new one.

(Update - Harrier has just been asked to accept multiple leadership positions at his church.

He has accepted them - with deep reservations.

Please pray for him.

Thank you).

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented" Luke 16:19-25

"If there is a poor man among you, one of your brothers, in any of the towns of the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart, nor close your hand to your poor brother; but you shall freely open your hand to him, and generously lend him sufficient for his need in whatever he lacks." Deuteronomy 15:7

Jesus was essentially the most socialist, hard left wing person in the history of the world.
If what you say is true, then why are not most Christians in the world socialist Democrats?

Keep in mind that Harrier(a conservative) agrees with everything that Jesus Christ said in the passage that you quoted.

It's no big shocker, and it certainly happens within more liberal churches as well as hardcore fundy churches.

I don't really care if they do this, but if they are going to espouse political views or exhort their followers to vote a certain way, they should lose their tax-exempt status.
Hence the reason to tax churches.
If they want to play politics, they get to pay to play.

He started to say that humans are responsible for global warming, when this is still a controversial topic.

He mentioned Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and even conceded that global warming has occurred in periods before fossil fuels, as Gore states in his book.

He said that Gore was mainly concerned with our own civilization - not the Earth - which will regenerate on its own - which makes it rather clear that Gore just wants to sell books and expand control and regulation, which is the wet dream of all liberals.

The pastor even mentioned Earth Day.

I thought that was the final straw, until he gave the benediction and said these words:

"Think globally, and live liberally".

Where does he stand on same sex marriage? Being good caretakers of God's creation is not un-biblical.

Many Christians are hypocrites that's why.
