I think the Feds should get it up to 50% then allow them to vote in US elections.

Oh yeah.

Puerto Rico has become a major transshipment point for drugs entering America. The $2 billion in food stamp payouts is a drop in the bucket for what the U.S. Government, banks, and private shipping fencers are making by having this market at their disposal. The effect on the common citizenry (being hostages to violence and on food stamps at this rate) show just how well this enterprise is working. Just look at American inner-cities starting in the 70s. It's the same byproduct here. And as we all know without the illegal drug economy the overall economy would have collapsed several times in the past 35 years.

It is a US territory, and should be a US State.

That would mean more guaranteed electoral votes the Democratic Party, but its hard to see how it would benifit anyone else.

Independence for Puerto Rico!

I liked this response better, it sounds like someone has issues with Puerto Ricans:

I agree!

Puerto Rico is a worthless territory and especially would be worthless US state (It will become a Democrat state, obviously). Only good for vacation is all I care.
