Only two things going for amnesty. First, Hispanics who were amnestied before now have a pretty strong voting bloc. Second, business loves the cheap labor. These two factors are preventing any examination of the proposal on its merits. Neither party DARES to alienate the Hispanic vote (soon to be the majority in the biggest state, California). Oh, one more plus. If all those shadow workers come out of the shadows, all those cheap wages can be TAXED.

Amnesty = Sticking a baseball bat into 99% Americans' behind while the Democrats watching and laughing their heads off.
On one hand, we have tens of millions of Americans getting health care access, and something being done about our out of control health care costs.
On the other, we have people who already work and live in the US being given full rights and responsibilities that should come with that.
They both sound pretty good to me.
Obamacare doesn't do anything about costs and that was never the goal. This has been well established.
