Some of these organizations that receive 501c3 taxfree status (taxpayer funded) border on the absurd, why are these organizations put in the same category as quality charities such as the American Red Cross that are truly interested in social welfare.
Tax free does not mean taxpayer funded. Government is not a corporation. There is no loss of projected revenues from the sale of goods and/or services through the preponderance of 501(3)(c) organizations.
And furthermore, no religious group should be tax exempt. I'm sick of my tax dollars subsidizing religious organizations.
I will second that. Our country could get itself out of debt by taxing the churches, they have a vast wealth that they keep saving for that rainy day, then need to spread it around.

File this away with tax cut that haven't been paid for.

There is a loss of tax revenue and that could go towards the budget, minimal amount but it's the principle more than anything, these organizations should not enjoy tax free status.

Good point!
The sooner we shut down these church-run soup kitchens, homeless shelters and food banks for the poor the better.

Nice to see that you're a born-again deficit hawk.
Shall we also tax free speech and peaceful assembly since "that could go toward the budget".

There is no loss of tax revenue. That's like saying the US lost a billion dollars in tax revenue last year because 3,000 new churches weren't created. Its pretzel logic to assert that taxpayers are funding these organizations.
