Aside from the arguments I want to get an idea of the count of what people think. Will Zimmerman be convicted or not? This should reflect the current FL laws that the case will be tried under (with the Stand Your Ground and other clauses.)
Note: I'm not asking if he SHOULD be convicted based on your standards, but how will the case likely end.
I'm voting for not convicted. There's too much evidence that Martin had gotten Zimmerman in a dominated position and was beating the hell out of him, to the point where a reasonable person would think their life was in danger. If you read the FL law, that gave Zimmerman the right to use deadly force to protect himself.
To those of you that voted acquitted, I hope you're right. At least, based on what we know.
Hard to say how the media will play it, they always side with the poor beaten down minority regardless(tray on elementary school pics, anyone? haha)
But, the media loves blood and riots too so maybe they'll play neutral and let the courts decide.
I'm planning on seeing riots in my town conducted by people that can't even remember far enough back to recall Zimmerman defending himself.
Either way it'll be good to see this finished
Never knew so many CD posters here felt that blacks could basically act how they want in society.

Stand Your Ground is NOT a "clause." It's a LAW. Zimmerman's defense has already been asserted as SELF-DEFENSE. And, yes, there is a difference between stand your ground and self-defense.
Btw, Zimmerman waived his right to a Stand Your Ground immunity hearing, if that gives you any clue as to how confident the defense was of his winning on that issue.
Trial is scheduled to start June 10th, but the first part of the trial is jury selection which Zimmerman's lawyer has already said he thinks will take 2 to 3 weeks to pick a jury; judge said she wants to call 500 people from which counsel will select the ultimate jury, whether 6 or 12 people.
I'm amused that you think you already know what "evidence" is going to be presented in the trial, as, at this time, there are pre-trial hearings going on to determine exactly what will be admissible evidence and what will not (according to the law and the rules of evidence.) Not even the attorneys in this case know for sure yet all the "evidence" which will be certainly admissible. You must have a crystal ball.
I simply cannot say at this point whether he will be convicted or not because I have not heard the State's case yet. I don't have any crystal balls which are telling me the inside scoop on the State's case and trial strategy, so guessing IMO is pretty worthless.
Did you happen to notice that the jury in the Jodie Arias case was not able to reach a verdict in the PENALTY PHASE? I'm sure probably 99% of the folks in this country who followed that case were certain that they jury would give her death. JURIES ARE UNPREDICTABLE. And Zimmerman's jury will be no different in terms of predicting what they will do.
Anyone follows me in a pickup truck, gets out and walks toward me, better be smiling.
