That may be your view, in the field of IT (are you talking about Indians in the USA?). In the broader view, I don't think this is true--when you consider them as a whole, as compared to the general population, they are very educated.

I really appreciate many things about the Indian immigrants and their American children, but this comment is straight-up fact.

He's talking about H1B contract IT workers, many of whom have no idea what they're doing.

Here in Arizona the Apache, Navajo and so on call themselves "Indian" if not using the name of their tribe. Indians from India are usually called "East" Indian.

I think most Americans are mutts and we're becoming muttier every day. I refer to America's first peoples as American Indian and folks from India as Indian American. That seems pretty straightforward.

Winning the spelling bee is certainly an achievement- but honestly, it's just about memorization. I don't really find it to be a test of intelligence, per se.
