Not only that, but those organizations are DIRECTLY involved with politicians and some news outlets. Yet I bet they have never received scrutiny from the IRS. And its not as if its a secret. Many have raised questions about those groups, especially Media Matters. Yet I dont recall ever hearing Democrats attack them or of an targeting by the IRS.

Like heck they don't have to be non-partisan.
501(c) Organizations.

501(c)4's are allowed to be advocacy groups to further "social welfare" but cannot openly, directly, or indirectly support candidates. When a group has politically charged and partisan terms in their applications they should expect extra scrutiny regardless of political leaning.

If anything comes from this I hope that it's Congress tightening up what does and doesn't qualify as social welfare, and ending the shadow contributions allowed to 501(c)4 organizations.

Of course you never heard anything from the IRS about them. They, and many other, groups are being used as political weapons.

Captain, I'm detecting large quantities of deflection in this sector.

IRS Hearings Paul Ryan Nails it !!!!! - YouTube

Paul Ryan just kicked his rear end on this. Awesome. And to hear that testimony of those targeted, this scandal is BIG. You have to be the most naive to think this didnt come from people in high places.
