I think we should say "The Government." Yes Obama is at the highest position, but both sides are corrupt.

Hopefully what we see from this is an overturn in policy and limiting the powers of the NSA to when there's probable cause. That way there is oversight and documentation anytime there's surveillance.

No.

The fact that all of these companies know so much about us it because we tell them all about us.
Who among us has stopped shopping online or posting pictures of where we went on vacation, despite all of the targeted advertising and spam that shows up in our in-boxes and Facebook feeds as a result?

Does anyone really believe that people are going to stop giving Facebook, Google, et al. data that they can sell to the highest bidder just because we now know that in addition to cross-sharing it with Walmart and Amazon and QVC they also shared it with the NSA?

Not going to happen.

Exactly. The day we stop tweeting what we just digested is the day we start gaining our privacy back.

Okay, I just finished reading the linked article. My response: Edward Snowden just might have destroyed the internet (not that I think that would happen because of this). President Obama didn't originate the data collection protocol which pre-dates his ascention to office.
