This thread should be dead now.

Blind followers need to flip flop with their "champion of justice".
Cummings has a self serving reason to flip flop. What if the Democrats held the House? Then the chairmanship would most likely be in the hands of the ranking Democrat on that committee -- none other than Elijah Cummings.

He already has displayed his approach towards the administration: to protect and to serve. Not coincidentally, he was promoted into that spot over another Democrat in order to run interference for Obama.

According to a Washington Post column from 2010, his new position "will enable him to be the Obama administration's chief defender against an expected onslaught of Republican-led investigations." He has done so for the past two years in a variety of ways: giving witnesses a pass or an out, publicly criticizing Issa for engaging in witch hunts and a myriad of other ways meant to minimize the power of the committee.

Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., released a partial transcript of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform interview with the unnamed manager in the IRS’ Cincinnati office. In it, the employee said the extra scrutiny for tea party groups’ tax exempt status was an effort to be consistent in reviewing applications and not driven by politics.

‘‘He is a conservative Republican working for the IRS. I think this interview and these statements go a long way to what’s showing that the White House was not involved in this,’’ Cummings said.

But then same committee had democratic appointee over him to testify and she took the 5th. Also before the election Obama was written to by some of these groups yet he said and did nothing until it broke after the e-mail of journalist were hacked. Keep telling your self this is a republican conspiracy. They always select their group targeted and it was solely republican groups. Might even want to read some of the information request released they demanded. Might just be honest like mnay liberals sayig they approve of targeting the groups.

The idea that this is a GOP conspiracy, that Republicans would encourage and enable the irs to go after conservative groups defies all logic and reason. But then logic and reason is not a strong suit of the new American left.
