you do realize that the Federal government actually sold surplus military firearm; powder cartridges to mail order suppliers for decades. They even supply free ammo to citizens in marksmanship training. This is like asking alcohol companies to apologize for drunk drinkers that kill or even car manufactures that make the cars they use. Parents whose children commit crimes to be so judged as part of the act which is the crime. The constitution armed America in reality;millions arm themselves based on it be legal ;other try to take that right away by nay means but its rejected. We are trying to solve a human violence increase by focusing o the wrong thing. We see often its mentally ill people and other same ole human faults police have know for centuries. Many like the last actually stated their intent and where basically ignored.
I read the entire article and I think it should have had a different title because nowhere does it mention anything about apologies, the article was done by someone from a TV station in Texas who toured the Colt facility in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Just as it should be.. and I agree with you - Neither Colt, nor any other firearms manufacturers should have to apologize for arming anyone; the decision to be armed was, is, and should always be made by every law-abiding American individual. If you want to arm yourself, that's fine with me, if not, that's fine with me also - And that's the way it should be.
Colt has a second plant in Florida.
if they wanted to move the transition wouldnt have been too difficult.
Never been involved in such a move have you?
Just to expand the existing sight takes time. Retool, new electrical service to support the additional equipment.
Engineering and structural modifications.
EPA nonsense and of course zoning.

Don't confuse people on the left.....they have a hard time thinking as it is....
They could have found a new location in a few months and had a news conference with the local official saying that this is the new home of Colt. Whether the move has been completed or not. So logistics is not a prevented reason.
I'm sure when Colt makes major decisions in the future they will call Chimuelojones and ask for input.
Some have mentioned firearms companies moving or expanding to other states, I know Ruger built a new manufacturing facility about 75 miles northwest of Phoenix, in Prescott, Arizona, it's where they make their semi-automatic hand guns. Arizona is a very friendly state to the Second Amendment, and gun owners, so the factory will be around for a very long time.
Connecticut should force them out of business for the kids sake.
Force them to move somewhere like Texas and take those nasty jobs with them.
They'd just make the jump to Springfield, MA, tons of the supplies from the Hartford area would still be supplying the company, because the border is only 20 miles away.
That's why they can't move to far, the army of suppliers that keep the well-oiled machine working, and the capacity is huge considering Smith & Wesson is just down the road.
