You make it sound like torture. Ultrasound is absolutely a routine part of pre-parturitional care. And it isn't done to please a politician. It's done so the woman makes a truly informed choice.

At what gestation? A vaginal ultrasound doesn't show a baby much. Those images will not be effective in convincing someone not to have an abortion.

If the image needs a description and explanation, what is the point? The woman will see something that looks nothing yet that resembles a baby.

Since all embryos look alike the first 12 weeks, why not just show the woman a picture of an ultrasound? No need to force a medical procedure in a free country.
