Wasn't the US about to meet with the Taliban now that they are legitimized? They have an office in Qatar now and wish to offer us a conciliatory gesture. It's not negotiating with terrorists if our Qatari friends have let them set up an office right? It's just a gesture. They want us to gesture back with 5 top operatives in Gitmo.

Should we engage in reciprocal conciliatory gestures to get our Solider back or have we put egg on our face by even giving them any kind of positive attention?
