Reid slips The Travel Promotion Act in immigration Bill (Congress, highway, politicians)

The Travel Promotion Act allows the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury to spend up to $100 million on promoting travel to specific areas of the country. If the provision Reid and Heller inserted into the proposed immigration reform legislation becomes law, the benefits of the TPA would be extended indefinitely....now Reid and Heller have inserted an indefinite expansion of it into a bill that has nothing to do with tourism,

Why did the people of Nevada vote for this clown several times?

I think both sides can agree: there should be a constitutional amendment that limits legislation to one specific issue.

The OP once again misunderstands an issue and titles the discussion falsly. If the America-hating web blog linked in the OP accurately reports on the matter (something it oftentimes does not do, report accurately), the amendment to the Act (which was approved by both houses of the Congress in 2009) was inserted into the legislation ... at the request of the GOP. I, too, think it's wrong to tack-onto one piece of legislation an amendment which has nothing to do with the legislation and it's principal intent. The monies to fund the tourism promotion campaigns come from taxes levied on international visitors, if what I've read about is accurate.
