Well even the article mentioned.....these are upper and middle class Mexicans who live comfortable lives in their country and have no interest in leaving. It is the people at the bottom of Mexican society who come here. To be honest its unfair for Americans to judge all Mexicans based on the illegal aliens since they are seeing the worst segment of their home country's population. It will be like if you live in a foreign country and 9 out of 10 Americans you see are from Detroit, Philly, and Harlem.
The Mexican government on the other hand publishes pamphlets teaching people how to cross illegally.
The is a cool attraction called South of the Border on the NC-SC border on Interstate 95. I made a point to wear my Border Patrol t-shirt there when stopping. These tourists though I was an employee there! It would be cool if they wore Border Patrol shirts at South of the Border though.
According to the news show I saw this on, the reason they made this attraction is to show Mexican citizens how awful it will be if they try it, and to convince them not to. Sort of a "scared straight" for folks who might want to try to cross the border, in the guise of an amusement attraction.
Most of the people outraged will never go to Mexico, so why do they even care?
