How can we get closer together when one other side believes that people have a right to keep everything they earn, and that taxing them to support others, no matter how needy, amounts to theft and many activists on the right see taxes and regulation as tyrannical impositions on their liberty?

Where can the middle-ground be to include the beliefs of liberals, who believe that the country is more humane when we have a private-enterprise economy, but one in which society’s winners are taxed to pay for a social safety net that is morally superior to the starve in the streets capitalism that existed before the New Deal. It’s only right, liberals believe, for the affluent to help the less fortunate.

Get the population as divided as possible, and then high-five each other behind closed doors. Until people wake up and understand the two-party paradigm, we are in trouble as a society. Nothing will change, and things will only get worse with these establishment/globalist type politicians.

I was stuck at a stop light today behind a car with a good 20 bumper stickers on it's back side and noticed something funny. The middle sticker said "Death to All Extremists!", yet the surrounding stickers were ALL left-wing extremist stickers. To me, that is politics in the US on both sides in a nutshell.

In a world where Obama is the most radical Leftist in American history, I'm sure the "extremist" bumper sticker amounted to an MLK quote about racial harmony.
