It's the name of a not for profit organization, nothing more, nothing less. They do volunteer work for the Sheriff but are not law enforcement and need to work under supervision.

I've seen this claim a lot. Jefferson never naturalized as a French citizen. He was granted "honorary" French citizenship. Not real. Just like an "honorary" degree is not an actual credential.
This is a repeat of one of IC's more desperate and pathetic lies. In fact (and IC knows this fully well) Jefferson was never even offered an "honorary French citizenship," a fact that IC has tried to point to several times before.
This is because he was already a citizen.
That Thomas Jefferson was a fully naturalized citizen of France we know from the account of Nathan Dane, a personal acquaintance of Jefferson, a Framer of the Constitution, and the recognized "Father of American Jurisprudence." The Harvard School of Law was for many years known as "The Dane Law School" after him.
