As I write this the first legal same sex marriage ceremonies at taking place in California since the US Supreme Court decision upholding the invalidation of "Prop 8."

The Attorney General of California granted the honor to the two couples who challenged the legality of Prop 8 and with lightning speed issued the marriage licenses necessary.

Joyous ceremonies, attended by hundreds, are taking place for Kris Perry and Sandy Stier in San Francisco's opulent City Hall at 4:45 PM (Pacific Time) with the Attorney General himself officiating. At 6:15 PM Paul Katami and Jeff Zarillo will be wed in Los Angeles City Hall.

The momentum is on the side of Marriage Equality.

It is wonderful isn't it?

I thought we would have to wait until August 1st to see this happen.

People getting married is news?

Who knew?

I suppose it's news because some people find the idea of marrying the person you love to be rather outlandish.

Congrats to the happy couples.

This should have been normal for years.

When is the earth going to open up and swallow California as punishment from god?

Why is it you all jump for joy? It's ironic as traditional marriages fail and YOUR marriage is on the rocks that you celebrate this. Gays and lesbians have never been denied anything...they have always been free to do what others do...Look at the stats...straight people are avoiding the institution and bonds of marriage..They want to be free from state and religious control and domination...Straight people are now simply being together...strange how gays and lesbians are actually tossing their freedom away...out of sheer spite.

God is a little behind right now. There are several countries that he has to get to first.

God I am sure can not be bothered to punish anyone...People punish people...The overly proud gay community is in effect punishing straight society ....nothing good will come from revenge...as for the earth quake...nature balances all.
