Of course. That same freedom also covers people who criticise him and allowed to speak their mind.
Also if people want to buy there because of his remark, and withhold their money from gay friendly businesses are allowed to...and people who don't want to give their money to gay unfriendly places, or are turned off by his remark, are allowed that freedom with their money.
Freedom from government intervention on speech is not a sword that cuts one side, but not the other. It also doesn't save people from criticism for their speech by other private individuals expressing their free speech...even though people with unpopular opinions desire it. Nor does it state anyone else must give people space to express their opinion, like providing airtime, space on their private property, or run websites dedicated to their opinions.

As a business person, I have no idea what levels of stupidity are required to intentionally turn customers away. He's gotta be just so filled with hate that he simply can't keep his mouth shut. Smart business owners, however homophobic they might be, would keep it to themselves.
