Just for the record, Republicans were against big government before they got elected.

You didn't get the memo? Since then he's "evolved" and anyone else who changes their mind is "flip flopping."

Obama views on same-sex marriage reflect societal shifts - CNN.com
I posted this last year, during election season, in a thread about Biden:

They throw Biden out there to see which way the wind is blowing, like they always do. Here is what Team Obama does to keep him the Teflon President (nothing bad sticks to him).

"After cultivating a "Crazy Joe" image over the last few years, they throw Biden out in public to make controversial statements and then they wait for public reaction. If it's favorable, Obama follows with a squishy more conservative approach to the same message. If the public reaction is not favorable to Biden, Obama's people just laugh it off as Crazy Joe shooting from the lip again. I'm telling you, it's all orchestrated.

Look at the gay thing. Biden goes out and throws out some gay marriage talk. People that normally support Obama (that includes the media fan boys who immediately run with it) react favorably so Obama comes out and makes this very squishy statement to ABC News:

“At a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.â€

The gay people do the same thing the "hope and change" voters did in 2008. With the media over-gushing and making it out to be more than what it is (the first gay president), the gay people read into his statement what they want to hear, not what he actually said.

He then reaps a lot of donations from his squishy statement that everyone wants to believe is a call for action but he gets some blowback from his core constituency (black religious folks) so he qualifies his statement by apparently becoming a Republican conservative overnight and saying he supports letting the states decide the issue. WHAT? 30 states have some kind of anti-gay marriage laws and President Obama becomes a states rights kind of guy on the issue? Can you think of any other issue where he leaves it up to the states?

So, tell me, what's the Teflon president's real position on gay marriage? Bet you get a zillion different answers with everyone reading into his statements what they want to hear, much of it fueled by the fan boy media, and it all started with Team Obama throwing "crazy" (like a fox) Joe Biden out there with an "outrageous" statement to test public reaction."

I'm quoting myself.

In the real universe, unblemished by quasi-mystical dogma and rigidity bordering on paralysis, it is a good thing to be able to change one's mind.

Yes, he is doing the same evil flip-flopping others are accused of doing.

That said: He and all elected imbeciles are elected to DO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE! I personally couldn't care less what they think as individuals.

The problem with the flip-flopping on gay marriage is that gay marriage is NOT what the public wants. Gays and their cheerleaders squall and carry on like banshees, but their numbers are few.

Not to mention it's a state issue.

So 0bama: Shut Up! Zip your pie hole!

Idiot!

Flip flopping is saying one thing to a group of people and another thing to another group of people. Flip-flopping is trying to please everyone all the time to get their vote.

And just where was this lovely quote when Romney flip flopped his way into the primaries?
