I'd say this is more for the American posters. I'm only 28 but I've always been an independent and even then, I don't agree with everything.

I don't want to go into red, blue, and/or green stance as I think our issues are WAY bigger than picking apart certain topics.

Americans say they want change but when it happens (extremely slowly), many people lose their mind. I personally think we need some radical changes with our government. Europe makes massive changes (probably too many) and they get things done.

People who hated Bush thought Obama would solve things and yea...

I think more people need to start expressing how awful our government is so we can make the changes needed.

I'd say more and more people are starting to agree with the thread title.

Agree?
Disagree?
Go away? ok...

A strong mistrust of government is a good thing.

People should jealously guard their liberty, safety, and prosperity from those who seek to destroy any of the three. Government and its members, no matter what party affiliation, want to limit or destroy all or some of all three of those things.

Love my country.

Government is such a vague term.
Love certain parts of the Government, but just certain parts.

Agree, the government never gives back power to the people, it will never get smaller, the government will always justify its need for more power/money under the pretense of security and the vast majority of Americans are too dumb to realize it.

Thomas Jefferson warned us about government.

Just read the constitution and the Declaration of Independence.

Read original sources for the things that you don't understand.

Study it, memorize it. Then you can argue about the evils of change for change sake.

We are NOT Europe, (thank God).

They do not have our constitution, or anything like it.

Do I hate my government? Of course not.

I simply decided they are not doing government right, and so it's time to vote them out and put in people whom I think WILL do it right.

I don't hate the government that is there now.

I don't hate the garbage in the wastebasket in the kitchen, either, or the weeds in the garden.

But I do think they are doing more harm than good, and that left unchecked, they can do a LOT of harm. So I think it's time to move them out.

Anything else I can help you with?

I agree except for your comment about Europe. The things they "get done" are not things I agree with.
