Depends which ones you are talking about. The ones at the top I would say get more than enough perks and benefits to live well.
The ones working at the lower levels of Government well since the ones at the top are disproportiantely compensated they can take it up with each other. The Taxpayer does not need to contribute more so they can improve on their Cadillac health plans.
Remember that Simpson's episode where Homer was on a jury, and he deliberately held out so he could keep ordering room service? Classic episode.
