"Two persons assumed to be homosexuals were beaten and killed during an anti-gay protest of a Protestant led coalition of moral and religious organizations on Friday.
According to sources in Haiti, within the protest against marriage between persons of the same sex, individuals armed with knives, sticks, blocks and other objects attacked several people that they accused of being homosexual."
"The demonstration was organised by several religious groups, including one calling itself the Haitian Coalition of Religious and Moral Organizations. The protesters carried anti-gay placards and chanted songs in which they threatened to burn down parliament if its members make same-sex marriage legal
Organisers say they are pleased with the turnout on Friday as more than 1,000 people took to the streets here to protest homosexuality and a proposal to legalize gay marriage in Haiti."
I think it is important to note that these people are an extremist element in Haiti. Not all Haitians are anti-gay ... in fact the reason these "Christian" groups is going berserk is because LGBT rights and legalized same sex marriage is being openly debated and discussed over there.
This congregation of Christians very much seems to.
Do you believe it's a representation of Christians who may oppose gay marriage?
If so, I would disagree with you. Most Christian don't wish any harm on gay people and would never advocate anything like this.
If you're posting this just to inform us on what extreme groups are doing around the world, I'm cool with it.
