You mean the average welfare recipient is not a single, black woman with 8 children, driving a Lexus with the back seat loaded with Lobster Tails, fine brandy and cartons of Kools?

Shocked! I tell ya, totally Shocked!

To an extent, yes. But how do you know that's not a mistake? Is that not interfering with the natural evolutionary process?

"So why has there been such a steady drop? As UPI notes, previous research studies have found that women of higher intelligence tend to have fewer children on average, meaning that population growth may be driven by those with a lower IQ. And over time, the abundance of less intelligent offspring would affect the overall IQ average."
Researchers say Western IQs dropped 14 points over last century

Humans are devolving. Imagine that...

The reasonable answer is if you a federal revenue system based on income.... you go where the income is.

EVERYONE should be contributing their fair share. Tax EVERYONE equally. A flat tax means EXACTLY: Earn little; pay little. Earn A LOT; pay A LOT. ALL in EQUAL proportions.
That makes zero sense if you had any idea of how %s work.

I think the point is to not have ANYONE reproduce. At ALL. For about 25 years. Simply BAN procreation.

Give ol' Ma Earth a chance to recover, if it's even possible.

Because you aren't solving anything. All you are doing is making the poor, poorer. And since welfare is a necessity in modern industrialized nations, you'll just be spending the extra revenue on the poor.

There's nothing stopping the able-bodied from working harder/smarter to overcome that.

Spend less on the poor and transition them into supporting themselves. Wean them off dependence on the government teat.

You still haven't explained why you think a flat tax in which those who earn little, pay little, and those who earn A LOT, pay A LOT...

No, but I do believe that internet message boards are often used to validate the opinions of idiots.

welfare destroy's pride and self worth in people, I don't think that's what it originally was meant to be but that is how I feel it is being used. JMO

Then why doesn't that translate to the real world? Not just America, but worldwide?

I understand you have ideals, but the world doesn't care about your ideals or how you believe the world OUGHT to be. Nor does it care about mine. More on that below.

You do realize America has generally had a large class of poor people throughout it's history. We had over a hundred years of no welfare and still had lots of poor folks. Not sure why in this modern age in which we live in a increasingly global industrialized society taking away welfare will all of a sudden turn a switch on in tens of millions of people...............

I did. Concisely, you would still be robbing Peter to pay Paul. Taxing people who make very little income would only have the money returned them in welfare....

If you want to away the welfare then be prepared for this country to head in real third world territory.

Profit vs Wages

The "producers" have gotten really good at using technology and globalization. Industrialized countries have used welfare to offset this.
