Somebody created a thread asking should people on welfare be allowed to vote. I assume welfare is simply a subsidy, so I think the proper question should be, should anybody on the government dole be allowed to vote? Thoughts?
I'll get s*** for this, but as I said on a similar thread... if you are 18 years or older, and a US citizen, and do not have a criminal record, then you have the right to exercise one of your most basic Constitutional rights, and that is to vote!!!!!!
Why even start this? Do you people not know what the constitution is? This is the exact same thread! You started a duplicate thread knowing there was another one out there. WTF?

Why would anyone give you crap for that statement?
I don't even care if you have a criminal record if you paid your debt to society.
Are you going to include traditional Republicans voters like farmers who receive agriculture subsidies, seniors citizens on Social Security, and small business owners who get SBA loans?
Govt socialism has spread so far and wide in this country today, that it's almost impossible to exist without tripping over a government subsidy.
If you limit voting to only the people who have never benefitted from one, you'll be down to LilAbner and his dog.
Rather than limiting the vote to people who haven't beneiftted from subsidies, I'd suggest starting to eliminate the subsidies instead.
this is the point of my thread, to show the hypocrisy of people who vilify people on food stamps or some type of welfare, but go silent when there is massive welfare going on at the corporate level.
