This post is a good example of how little laypersons actually understand the climate change research they deny.

Scientists are well aware the Earth warms and cools on its own. No one denies that. They've accounted for those factors, from orbits to solar output to volcanoes, flora, shifting continents, and all the rest.

From thousands upon thousands of studies, they have found humans to be the only remotely possible explanation.

Now that you understand why your denial of climate science is mistaken, you can follow the lead of scientists and adapt your conclusion based on the new information I just taught you.

The tide is turning....Below are quotes from four large oil companies...

Exxon: "Rising greenhouse gas emissions pose significant risks to society and ecosystems."

Shell: "CO2 emissions must be reduced to avoid serious climate change. To manage CO2, governments and industry must work together. Government action is needed and we support an international framework that puts a price on CO2, encouraging the use of all CO2 reducing technologies."

BP: "According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, warming of the climate system is happening and is caused mainly by the increase in greenhouse gas emissions and the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Results from models assessed by the IPCC suggest that to stand a reasonable chance of limiting warming to no more than 2˚C, global emissions should peak before 2020 and be cut by between 50-85% by 2050."

Chevron: "At Chevron, we recognize and share the concerns of governments and the public about climate change. The use of fossil fuels to meet the world's energy needs is a contributor to an increase in greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane—in the Earth's atmosphere. There is a widespread view that this increase is leading to climate change, with adverse effects on the environment."

Sadly for decades to come we will be hearing from people who have been convinced otherwise by the efforts of many of those companies. I think the only reason they are admitting it now is the realization that eventually they might face being sued over it.

Oh really?

You have a crystal ball?

If one is WED TO THE PRINCIPLES OF SCIENCE, one accepts that NO SCIENCE IS SETTLED, and that the true scientist welcomes contrary and further data.

True science is not vested in, and is indifferent to outcomes. Cults are vested in a particular outcome, regardless of the truth.

The principles of science are valid. Further generations will view "global warming" in the same vein as "flat earthers", "blood letters", "leechers", and those who thought that the sun revolved around the earth.

Why in the world would ANYONE, with any degree of common sense or modicum of scientific training, EVER think that ANY PROBLEM IN SCIENCE IS "SOLVED" AND REJECT FURTHER INVESTIGATION OR DATA?

Think............................. this occurs in no other area of "science", except global warming. Are the global warming advocates so blinded by this fact and invested in a flawed hypothesis that they reject the truth?

If so......................... keep smoking cigarettes, applying leeches to yourself, consuming radioactive liquids blowing smoke up your a*s, and putting cloths over your mouth to prevent "vapors" from infecting you. While you are at it, avoid vaccinations, as all they do is "cause autism and seizures"!!

I am dealing with those stuck in the Middle Ages view of science.

The amount of federal funding for climate science hasn't changed since the early 90s. Funding sources from countries all over the world, private foundations, and even the Koch brothers have funded climate research that has shown human as the primary cause of a warming planet.

The more you know.

Scientists are constantly doing new research, adding new data. So far, everything points to humans as primary cause of the warming planet.

Why are you so afraid of accepting that conclusion based on thousands upon thousands of valid studies?
