Anyone that boycotts a product because of the ideology of the owners is a fanatic.
I'll eat at Paula Deen's restaurant any day of the week, and I'll buy a Ted Nugent Cd if he actually made good music, and I'll watch an Eastwood film
Eh, I don't really agree. I don't eat or drink certain things because it's the principle of the matter. For instance, I heard Snapple was anti-gay so I don't drink Snapple. Not that I ever did but whatever.
I think it's getting a lot better. The problem they have now is that they lost a ton of customers when they went to substandard merchandise, and they're slow to come back now that things have improved. I said this in an earlier post, but I went there out of desperation--I was trying to find a pair of 28 waist 34 length dress pants for one of my sons. They had them! I did more looking around, and I liked what I saw. I wouldn't have stepped in the door except to look for the pants, but now I"ll be back.
The Ellen DeGeneres argument--that she somehow hurt their sales--is ridiculous. She's the 10th most powerful celebrity in the United States according to Forbes, and people LOVE HER.
Indeed. And my shopping somewhere has nothing to do with whatever celebrity may endorse their products. More like the merchandise, as you have alluded to. However; to be fair most of the JC Pennys around here are located at a shopping mall, and the last time I was at a mall was to take my kid to see Santa. Seeing has he stopped believing in Santa about 3 years ago, that is probably the last time I've been there.
Wait. What's rubbed in your face at JCP? Homosexuality?
Dang, my JCP is a rather boring store. Can I ask which JCP you shopped at? Three more weeks until the start of football and I have some weekends open. Will there be a gay pride parade through cosmetics and jewelry? I need a reason to wear this rather flamboyant red feather boa I was given some years ago and I'd like to show my solidarity with the LGBT community.
(Please tell us they all sing "YMCA" while standing on the counters. I remember all the movements and everything. Oh, this is just fabulous!!)
I know. It's like they literally envision it & then they get all flustered & have to sputter about things ramming & shoving. Hahaha!!
I suppose you don't mind ramming and shoving....?
