I see what he's doing. Because he is not successful with big things like Egypt, Syria, the multiple government scandals, the economy, etc., he's looking for smaller things he thinks he can actually accomplish hence that meeting on bisexuals and going out on the road and campaigning, something he does better than leading.
Does it really matter that he commented? Why do you think he needs to comment on everything that happens in the world?
Yes, because having a special news conference to weigh in on the Trayvon case and not commenting on the Aussie's murder, especailly when the Aussies are clamoring for their citizens to boycott America, then now ignoring the vets murder he is sending a strong signal as to what does and does not matter in his eyes.
He could have made some great points by speaking on these issues also and maybe gained some respect.
Something to the effect of "You all could have been me, but now you can't. You chose a bad path. So you were bored, huh? Read a book instead of killing people. You, too can be anything you want to all depending on the choices you make through your lives".
But instead there are crickets and the comments about him not giving a s@$t about a lot of things are just proven further.
This guy has wasted many leadership and teaching opportunities for this country.
This is the tragedy (on the domestic front) of the Obama presidency - he wasted a great opportunity. There hasn't been anyone since Martin Luther King that had the sort of bully pulpit to command the attention of all citizens to work toward the serious problems we know are in the black community. They wouldn't have called Obama a "oreo" - they would have listened and others would have joined him.
He chose another path - the path of division. Division mobilized votes with these phony "war on" (choose your group).

According to you. Yet you cannot and have not provided any actual argument in defense of your savior, only tries to ridicule any statement that makes you uncomfortable (like any comment that does not praise The One).
But, of course, this is what we have come to expect from those like you.
I am not religious, so I don't know what you are talking about.
Why would Obama need to make a statement? Is this about something in general or specific?

I don't think Obama weighed in on the Zimmerman case the moment it happened, give it some time, if the Aussie issue is that big I am sure he will way in on it as well.
I think Obama is catching on. The less he has to say, the better for him. He should consider keeping his mouth shut more often.
Actually in this day and age, with technology all around us and people able to tweet their comments, I think more politicians should say less, so less interviews, tweet very little if at all.
