Why are we so afraid of Assad that we're preparing to invade the country knowing that Russia, China and Iran are Assad's allies ?
Easy. Because the Muslim Brotherhood are Sunnis and Obama is going to help them gain power there like in Egypt. Make no mistake. It's ALL about the Red/Green alliance. The Red (Progressives) are aligned with the Green (Sunni Islam) to help each other. Islam wants a Caliphate and the Progressives want the end of Capitalism and Christianity.

It seems that the end of Cold War has brought an end to the enmity between communism and Islamism. Indeed, there are growing signs that an informal alliance is forming between political Islam and the radical Left, both at the state level and the level of groups and movements. Tehran has reached out to left-leaning regimes in Bolivia, Nicaragua and Ecuador, offering energy and trade. Europe’s Islamists and leftists have also joined forces. In March 2012, British firebrand socialist Galloway and his pro-Hamas Respect Party scored a sensational victory in Bradford West (a heavily Muslim-populated district) by-election, gaining 55,9 percent of the vote. Although this emerging alliance may appear as a tactical marriage of convenience between two fundamentally different political philosophies opposing the West, Reds and Greens have more in common than they dare to admit.
First, Islam and communism emphasize group goals over individual interests. Both seek to establish a society based on sacred texts: the Quran for the Islamists and the works of Marx and Lenin for leftists. Furthermore, they offer a vision of a just society that can be created on earth: the Marxist utopia of a classless communist society parallels the utopian vision of a restored Caliphate. Both claim to represent an absolute truth that would lead to the salvation of mankind.

Thanks for the link..will give it a read.

I have noticed that since Obama was elected in 2008.
There was a distinct "change in attitude" towards the ME.

And I've read articles that mentioned the progressives but didn't give it much thought.
But they are showing their true colors now and no one dares question their moves.

Congress has rolled over like a beaten dog on these actions.
I think Valerie Jarrett is the force behind all this as well.

Yes, Congress is toothless and I wouldn't be surprised that many R's are in on this as well. There are MANY players in this amongst the administration. Remember the allegations of Islam infiltrating the WH? Huma being a part of the Sisterhood and her relatives in the MB? It's all true and there is more that we don't know. I truly believe Obama is a Sunni that REALLY belongs to the MB. The MB made a statement just before the election that "one of theirs" will be in the WH very soon. They also said the biggest terror attack on America will come from the WH. They were going on and on about this, then after the election all that stuff was scrubbed from the net.

Muslim Brotherhood Gaining Foothold in U.S. Gov't?
Remeber, right after Obama got into office, they removed the MB from the terror list.

How Close Is the U.S. to the Muslim Brotherhood?

When it came out that the State Dept sent McCain to Syria, arranged his visit, funded his visit and provided security that was enough to convince me that they are all in cahoots.

They used McCain because he's a known Repub war monger.
That "secret" visit to Syria that the US MSM reported got blown to smithereens by the foreign press who interviewed those Syrian rebels in the photo. Then the State Dept had no choice but to come clean.
And then the whole episode of "war monger McCain goes to Syria" disappeared off the MSM sites.

Currently there is, once again, a religious war going on in Iraq and Sunnis are the targets being attacked, murdered and subjected to suicide bombings. Would that mean Obama will comply with Iraq and we will return to Iraq to save the Sunnis????

If Assad ordered or knew about the gassing then go in and get him, not like we got Hussein, but go get him and bring him to trial and if found guilty, execute him.

Bombing Syria isn't going to change a darn thing except make more enemies, risk American lives and those of our Allies and embroil us in yet another disaster trying to make friends that are practically guaranteed to become enemies too.

We engage is dictator trading games, nothing more.

This is an article by Peter Bergen of CNN which explains the "calculus" of any military action the U.S. might take toward Syria. It is not long, and it is informative

Andrew Roberts: Syria's Gas Attack on Civilization - WSJ.com

This is a lengthier, but not horribly long, article about why the U.S. will/should intervene militarily.

I have never wanted our forces to get involved in this. But the gassing of citizens, men, women and children is a heinous offense. I suspect that Assad feels he is not making progress, or is not doing so fast enough. So he murdered Syrian civilians. The second article puts him in the same class as Hitler and Mussolini.

At least after reading it I understand why the U. S. feels it must act. Apparently the government will use cruise missiles, not air power or boots on the ground. Even if you don't want our government to act, reading these pieces will help you understand why it is deemed important to do so.

I am on the fence on this. What do you think?
I think there is a 95% chance it was false flag BS from Assad's or, Syria as we know, enemies including Israel and the US. Assad would have to be a complete idiot to use it.

Just the relativism. If you can even find morals, it would be astounding.

“The Founding Fathers were, as in most things, profoundly right. That’s why I want to be very clear: if the President takes us to [war] without Congressional approval, I will call for his impeachment....The Constitution is clear. And so am I.” — Joe Biden, in 2007.

(In before semantic parsing of what a war actually is)

Well they will just say it's not "war", it's "restoring democracy".

It worked for Egypt's military coup.
