Did you read the article? They're talking age appropriate information, like "good touch, bad touch"
That's the overall sentiment .... keep your stinking liberal paws off our children .... bad touch!! Leave them alone and let the kindergartners finger paint for christ sake.
Did you read the article? They're talking age appropriate information, like "good touch, bad touch" which means kids knowing that it's not ok for people to touch them in their private areas unless they're doing it for an important reason, like to put on medicine, etc., and that kids should tell a grownup if it happens to them. Every child should know that. With local approval, it would also mean that if a child asked where babies come from, the teacher could say "from the mommies tummy" and not from the stork. the article also said that parents should have the right to opt their child out of the discussion.
Most kids who are sexually abused are victims of someone well known to the family who has access to the child--a family member, a neighbor, a child care provider, etc. Kids should know at an early age that it's wrong, and to go to another adult for help. If the child is being abused in their own family (which is a very possible scenario), it's even more important that the information and support comes from a safe place like school.
Much fuss over absolutely nothing.
Did you read the curriculum ?
10 months of curriculum goes into how to perform the act of sex using the correct terminology to describe the act.
Why didn't that article talk about that ?
Why do you start and stop with "good and bad touching" ?
10 month curriculum goes into the sex act and how it's performed between a man and woman.
I posted the curriculum.
What you posted was the 3rd Edition of a proposed curriculum originally written in 1991. What you haven't posted is what that has to do with Obama (you know, the whole premise of the original op), and even it if is the official curriculum that is the basis of this discussion.

That edition was dated 2004 on the cover.
It's now part of common core and available all over the web.
I didn't blame Obama for anything.
So he promoted it in 2004 and 2008..big deal.
He didn't write it did he ?
(CNSNews.com) - The Chicago Public Schools this year are mandating that the district’s kindergarten classes include sex education, fulfilling a proposal President Barack Obama supported in 2003 when he served in the Illinois state senate and later defended when he ran for president in the 2008 election cycle.
Do we really need government bureaucrats deciding all of this, just because they have confiscated out money in taxes? this is why parents need to get involved at the local and state school board level. but I would not put it past the Obama admin to try and make this a compulsory law across the nation.
I have not investigated this personally, but I have heard from a reliable source that the instruction for kindergartners is FORBIDDEN to include any reference to sexual relationships within the context of a marriage. This seems very wrong to me. But then again, in my opinion, sex education is the responsibility of parents and not the school.
What age do you think a child is mentally capable to know where babies come from?
Maybe when they mature enough to understand that Santa Claus is a mythical figure?
You see, for the very young, they are not sophisticated enough mentally/intellectually to deal with these types of issues .... babies come from mommy's stomach? Yes. How does it get out? Through the vagina. What's a vagina? Well little johnny, it's ....
For a very long time, parents learned from experience that trying to explain such things is confusing to young children, and they figured out a long time ago that a "childlike" fantasy story such as the "Stork" just eliminated the chain of follow up questions generated by giving children age inappropriate information.
And there is a good reason why the frigging "wheel" is still round, in spite of the brilliant minds on the left still trying to identify a better shape. Every attempt made has resulted in a very bumpy failure.

Why the hell would I lie to my kid about a stork or a cabbage patch? If you're uncomfortable with the follow-up questions, that's all on you. Perhaps your parents should have instilled a healthier sexual attitude instead of filling up your head with lies.
Name calling? Get thicker skin, the Cons love Texas like a utopia. It is like liberal utopia Northwest for liberals.
It has nothing to do with thicker skin.
Is this how you debated in school ? Is this what you learned ? Say whatever you want and walk away feeling smug about yourself for name calling ?
