.............so we have a report by the Russians coming to the conclusion that the rebels, not Assad, used chemical weapons.

Russia says it's compiled 100-page report blaming Syrian rebels for a chemical weapons attack | McClatchy

If there is ANY doubt at all, why in hell is Obama and Kerry hell bent on intervening when-

1. even we are not sure that Assad used chemical weapons

2. limited action would do nothing to the Assad regime

3. we are not sure whether the opposition (most likely Muslim extremists) would be worse than Assad

Here is a novel idea- why not simply provide humanitarian aid and skip the bombs?

The UN analysis of the Aleppo attack left open the possibility it was the rebels.
The UN could not say for certain it was Assad.

That's why that line in the sand wasn't pushed.

Now we have to act before the UN analysis comes back.

I certainly can't imagine a single reason to question the report from the Russian government that says its ally, the Syrian government, is blameless.

Can anyone else?

Where is the truth?? Hidden somewhere. We should get to the bottom of this.. Sorry to say, I can't find my own government credible anymore.

You have Kerry on this end saying the very same thing about Assad's army having done this.

Neither side has shown any proof.
If you believe one then why not believe the other ?

Neither side is objective about this.
But don't hang on Kerry's every word and then turn around and dismiss Putin's words.

Sadly, I would believe the Russian government over the United States government in this matter. It is clear that certain factions within the US government are hellbent on attacking Syria. Just like always, when it comes to Middle East policy, the US government is being forced into action by the combination of big oil and Israel. This is so much like the buildup to the Iraq war, once again the decision has been made and they just need extra time to create some evidence. Remember the aluminum tubes, yellow cake, "we don't want the smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud" and Rumsfeld telling the world that the US knew exactly where Iraq had stashed their WMDs. It all turned out to be lies and vaporware, but we started a war anyway.

They're all lying. Russia just wants its damn naval port on the med left alone. Congress is gonna vote no then what will the peace prize winning president do? I guess we'll find out. I wonder if Kerry will announce what Obama will do or will the grand puba come out of hiding and actually address the nation? Golf anybody?

Pretty damn thorough, and definitive report. They make their conclusion, with a lot of proof.

Kerry showed us a 2003 picture of dead Iraqis and said Assad did it.
There's our proof.

How do you know? They say they've done a 100-page report, they say it proves what they claim it proves, but they haven't released it.
