Pubs are pompous, arrogant, and clueless enough to believe that men can tell women what to do with their bodies. On this topic, what Pubs think is meaningless...as usual.

Go California! Show those Pubs how it's done.

The bill says that the non-physicians must be certified nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwife, or physician assistants who have completed training and they can only perform medicinal or aspiration methods in the 1st trimester.

This. We already foist other responsibilities/low-risk procedures onto NPs and PAs because insurance companies love to pay less for the same service...why should this be any different?

For example, the last "dermatologist" to treat me was a PA who wrote prescriptions for medications that could be fatal if abused. Last time I had stitches, a PA put them in.

That is the sick part of it. Kiling humans should never be "routine".

So you're in favor of MILLIONS of innocent children being wiped out. Never mind the adults. And the churches and synagogues and temples and food banks and missions and grandmas who go to church on Sundays then volunteer their time teaching special needs children the rest of the week.

I imagine a child being crushed by falling brick will cry out for his mother but what do you care?

You call yourself "pro life"?

Nobody is telling them what to do - I just don't want to pay for it.

One of the arguments against defeating tax payer sponsored abortions is that it would carry abortions into the back alley where it would be done in an unsafe manner. Seems like this is heading in the same direction.

CA Gov. Brown to Sign Bill Legalizing Non-Physician Abortions

A bill that would allow non-physicians to perform abortions in the first trimester of pregnancy is awaiting signature by Gov. Jerry Brown of California by Sep. 30.

...
One doctor--who identified himself as pro-choice--told Breitbart News that "the bill is a disaster since it sends us back 100 years to the problems of the complications from back-steet abortions." The bill's critics warn that the training provided to non-physician staff is weak, that supervision by physicians in clinics will be minimal, and that there is real risk of injury or death to women who will be treated in such conditions.

...
Yet the training is to be provided by the Board of Registered Nursing, not by physicians, and the protocols for defining "supervision" have not been specified. There is nothing in the legislation requiring a physician to be present or on-site during an abortion.

And there's always the money aspect in the background...

Opponents describe AB 154 as an effort by Planned Parenthood and other groups to profit from Obamacare, since the legislation will expand the number of patients eligible for the state Medi-Cal program, and Medi-Cal pays for abortion.
If California wants non doctors to perform surgical procedures while not in a hospital > I say its a states right issue. Californians killing babies by non doctors in an unregulated environment seems a very Californian thing to do. Maybe the non doctors can prescribe weed for the mothers for the pain

There is also a CA law that says flip-flops are not allowed at certain parks - however, people still wear the flip-flops. In that case, the law is intended as legal protection in case someone gets hurt - it is not a prohibition against flip-flops. There are no flip-flop cops.

Could this non-physician criteria be in line? We don't care who does abortions - but if someone messes up, and a woman is severely injured or dies - the state of CA is not liable.

Deciding if an unborn child gets to live or die isn't arrogant?

When you're planning to kill a helpless, growing human being within your body, it becomes my business.
