There are many things that could be much cheaper and more competitive without regulations that you apparently champion.

For example, teaching. I am married to one of the best teachers Michigan had (according to various evaluations and whatnot that her school district ran, she consistently was rated at the top of everything). However, we moved to Maine and she is currently unemployed because all the paperwork for her to have a license hasn't gone through yet, so no one is allowed to hire her.

It's absolutely ridiculous, because she could be teaching somewhere right now, improving the lives of dozens of children. But instead, she isn't allowed to because of a bunch of stupid regulations. Good job, good effort, but all your regulations do is make it harder to keep good workers employed.
Licensing occurs at the state level. The states strongly prefer this over federal licensing. It enriches state coffers and sustains state jobs Given the states and municipalities pay for the lion's share of education, don't they deserve the right to define their minimum requirements?

Most people working in licensed fields know this and plan accordingly. Being licensed is no guarantee of a job. Hope your wife is eventually an exception.

Something to ponder.

That said, everyone should have a fair shot at life. Abortion is just flat out wrong.
I am not pro-abortion. I am pro choice, and a lesbian. I think that it is not my place to tell another woman what she has to do with her body, period.

I would rather abortion was not a reality. I would rather that people didn't get pregnant unless it is intentional. I would rather people put unwanted children up for adoption. But I live in the real world, and have to live with things as they actually are.

At one time you could have said that about slavery. We still have sex slaves around the world now, so you could say that about sex slaves now as well.

The "fair shot" continues for 18 years.
So when a woman is irresponsible and gets pregnant when she doesn't want to, the choice is either to kill the baby or to have the taxpayer pony up dough to support her irresponsibility?

There you have it in a nutshell (with emphasis on nut), folks. The liberal mindset of irresponsibility summed up succinctly.

WE can't do a thing. It's the parents responsibility to do it. If no one can teach it anymore than we are doomed. PARENTS STOP BEING YOUR KIDS BUDDY, THEY NEED PARENTS.
