"They started a dumpster fire they can't put out."
Republicans should have been happy to just let the Dems own Obamacare lock, stock and barrel. "Defunding" would have been the wrong policy, even without the retarded course it now requires. Senate Republicans filibustering the House Republican bill forever? And the public will understand this as Obama shutting down the government? They'd have better luck panning for gold in their showers.
You know you're on target when you get the most flak.
I have always loved that metaphor for its perfect encapsulation of stubborn-heeded obstinate idiocy. "The more people disagree with you, the more right you are." That's not the thinking of a rational individual.
But you're right - it sure applies to Cruz these days.
Cruz is probably the only Republican left in DC not bought and paid for by big business. Companies are looking not only at the rising cost of healthcare insurance created by the Obama administrations meddling with healthcare, they are keenly aware of the looming excise tax for pricier plans under Obamacare.
Home Depot, Trader Joes and Walgreens are just the tip of the iceberg. If a business can get out of their employee's healthcare business by paying the IRS a fixed fee (which will be passed on to the consumer) they will happily dump their employees into a private health insurance exchange and onto the American taxpayer.
It makes you wonder about those other Republicans criticizing Cruz...who butters their toast, eh?

Stand!
Including flack from your own party? Of course its an opinion piece, and the point is that Cruz has ticked off just as many R's as he has behind him (or more).
