the only thing cruz is trying to stop is the senate AMENDINGthe bill sent to them by the house, not the bill itself. if the bill doesnt pass you cant blame it on the republicans because it will be DEMOCRATS that vote against the bill. and if the bill is passed by the senate, and obama vetos the bill, then its on obama for vetoing the bill, not the republicans who passed the bill in the house, and not the senate who would then have actually voted on an dpassed a bill sent to them by the house.
Bolded exactly why they'll be able to pin it on the GOP. People are getting sick of that behavior.

The electorate is getting wiser... to the GOP doing this time after time. Why do you think the House has such low ratings? They do this stuff all the time now.

While liberals lie a blue streak, trying to make people think Cruz is now opposing the bill he supported in the House, nothing is further from the truth. Instead, Cruz is using the very process that's in place to outfox Reid.
Reid's the one claiming Cruz is opposing the bill. On the contrary, Cruz is making it all but impossible to amend the bill. They can pass it, or vote it down. They just can't drum up the votes to try to amend it and send it back to the House in a silly game.
So, why are Democrats unable to tell the truth?
Ask them.
Someone probably already mentioned this, but it was Republicans who said this not Dems.

and if the government shuts down... the blame is still easily placed on the GOP.
So what's it matter?
Why should the GOP be blamed, if it is the Senate Democrats who refuse to allow the bill to fund the government, simply because they don't like 1 provision. ALL of their OTHER pork is left intact.
He wants to filibuster. That will still allow the blame to be placed on the GOP.
Obviously another person who cannot comprehend the Senate process. What he is doing isn't a Filibuster. It's a tactic to hold the floor, so they cannot amend the funding bill as written. If he can hold the floor until it is time to vote on the bill, it cannot be amended, and will have to be voted on as it stands, forcing the Democrats to either shut down the government, or accept the bill as it stands.

Of course, here on C-D you wouldn't know it, because there so many Democrat operatives on here that continually post the party propaganda, doing their part to smear Republicans (the Alinsky tactics) and turn as many as possible against them with lies and deceptions.
Seriously?

Most people cannot tell you who the vice president is. In 2012, the voters thought the republicans had the house and the senate. They had no clue who said what. They hear someone say something bad about someone other than who they like, and automatically believe it. If you told them the Republicans voted to shut down government, because they want to hurt Obama, an overwhelming majority would probably believe it.
