Nosey neighbor calls 911 to report the boys playing with air soft guns in the boy's front yard. Police were called out. School suspends boys because of their "zero tolerance" policy which they say now extends to parents' private property. So how exactly does educators surrender their common sense to receive their diploma.
Parents need to put their feet down. Schools don't mess with proactive parents.
Growing up, it was made perfectly clear that school officials had no business with my siblings and I unless a parent was present. Parents didn't agree, school was told to basically stuff it. We never had a problem.
Not only suspended, possibly expelled. They are deciding right now whether or not to expel him.
The neighbor is such an idiot

The caller also knew the gun wasn't real and said so, "This is not a real one, but it makes people uncomfortable. I know that it makes me (uncomfortable), as a mom, to see a boy pointing a gun," she told the 911 dispatcher.
Sure is a good thing she doesn't live next door to me. She would go absolutely ape-zhit when we set up the target range in the back yard for REAL guns!
But, if she called 9-1-1, it would be no big deal. There is often a Law Enforcement Officer using the backyard range with me!
The school admin should be horsewhipped in the town square, tarred and feathered, then ridden out of town on a rail.
