Remember President Obama saying this about Obamacare?

“If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.”

And this?

“If you are among the hundreds of millions of Americans who already have health insurance through your job, or Medicare, or Medicaid, or the VA, nothing in this plan will require you or your employer to change the coverage or the doctor you have.”

Well, if you live in one of these 10 states it's not necessarily true and you may want to read the article and find out what's going on where you live:

California
Connecticut
Georgia
Iowa
Maryland
Missouri
New Jersey
New York
South Carolina
Wisconsin

Ten states where Obamacare wipes out health care plans | The Daily Caller

Leave it to the egoistic avarice of the right-wing rag Daily Caller to post deception after deception about ACA, including this one, citing a whole bunch of decisions made by insurance companies and trying to make it seem like ACA itself banned those insurance policies. The president said that ACA does not force anyone to give up their current health plan. That hasn't changed. Don't blame ACA for what private companies decided to do in the free marketplace.

Why do you think those insurance companies made those decisions? Because it was no longer profitable to do business due to Obamacare.

Wrong.... not that it is no longer profitable. It is no longer profitable enough. Huge difference. Health insurance is one of the most profitable industries in America with profits in the $Bs year after year after year. If Obamacare controls costs, then it is reasonable to assume that health insurance profits will drop.

As long as health care is a for profit industry in the US, we will all suffer. It's no coincidence that the countries with universal health care systems in place don't have issues with affordability.

In this country profits rule (especially insurance company profits), and count far more than people's health apparently. Everything takes a back seat to profits.

I got a letter over the weekend telling me that my insurance would be terminated December 2014. I called Highmark and they said that I was grandfathered in and most peoples insurance would be terminated December 2013. They are just now getting letters this weekend, today and tomorrow. People don't even know yet.

AND! I was told my insurance policy is increasing 9.9%

Health plans aren't actually very profitable. The profit margin in bottled drinks is much, much higher.

Highmark isn't in the list but I was notified my rate is increasing. Obama said they would decrease.

Come on the bottom line is the bottom line for private insurers. They are not suffering in this market.
