I don't know why these people try to argue that Jesus was a socialist. It shows they have no understanding of scripture, or even Jesus' teachings. I think they do it in an "in your face" attmept to justify their own beliefs. But they are so far off base, it's ridiculous.
It always makes me laugh when unbelievers try to tell us what the Bible says.
Or people who deny Him, then give a Bible versus.......those are the most informed!

Also a tithe is not a tax. Tithes go to your church, taxes go to the government.
But here is what Jesus said on the topic of taxes.
Matthew 22:15-22
15 Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. 16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, “we know that you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by others, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay the imperial tax[a] to Caesar or not?”
18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose image is this? And whose inscription?”
21 “Caesar’s,” they replied.
Then he said to them, “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
Don't equate charity with socialism. Jesus was talking about charity.
The quoted scripture says what we do for others, we do for God. But unbelievers wouldn't understand that.

Libs are some of the least charitable people (as has been shown many times), as they are hypocrites. They GIVE LESS to charities, while claiming to be MORE COMPASSIONATE. There is no personal sacrifice, thus no true compassion, when you are "giving away" other people's money.
The basis of Jesus's argument is for you to rule over your money and not have money rule over you... which means, please be charitable with your money... not give your money to further the liberals political cause (which incidentally is having money rule over you)...

Precisely what makes you think he would not have associated with the 'Tea Party,' many of whom are Christians (which means they know Jesus, and belong to Him)? He absolutely would be found among them, because they are His children.
