Racist!
Quote:
DETROIT, MI — Upon returning to his hometown, Detroit Police Chief James Craig seemed miffed by motorists' pervasive tendency to disregard traffic signals.

"One thing that I've been critical of, as it relates to... the way the good people in Detroit drive, some of them just blatantly run red traffic signals," Craig said in late-July. "And I don't know if they just have total disregard for traffic laws or they're afraid of being carjacked."

Craig on a recent Friday, just over three months since moving back to Detroit, experienced first hand what can happen while stopped at traffic lights in his city.

Detroit's head law enforcer believes he nearly became the victim of a carjacking himself.

reminds me of when Jesse Jackson had his rental car, a Cadillac Escalade stolen in Detroit. The report doesn't say, but IIRC he was there for some kind of environmental thing, maybe 'green jobs' or something. Too many ironies to count.

The OP just wants a chance to yell racism when ever he can even if there is none to be seen.

I didn't stop at stop signs at night in bad areas. The windows were rolled up also. I had to work in some shady areas, and there was a real possibility of theft of any kind.

Crime is not a political issue? Go on the Detroit forum, and ask for a show of hands of whether they take crime issues into account when they go into the voting booth. I think you'll find that crime is close to the top of a Detroit voter's list.

I want some of what you're smoking. OP does not mention race anywhere.

^^ In bold.

I honestly don't know what the point of this thread is.

OK, I missed that. But still I don't think he is calling anyone racists. Rather he's mocking the usual suspects who will predictably call the DPD chief racist. You know it's inevitable.

The point of the thread is obvious. Detroit is a mess, with no fix in sight.

I do not know what the point is, but the impact is less than flattering for Edward. It says more about him/her than anything else. Its a window into his sole or obsession.
