Hillary Clinton's Lucrative Goldman Sachs Speaking Gigs | National Review Online

Typo..400k for two speeches!

And since Government Sachs only survived because of taxpayer bailout money in 08... I see this as hardworking taxpayers paying Hillary for two speeches. This is what the people want through. Neocons on the right call this "capitalism"..and sheep on the left turn a blind eye because she is a Clinton. Future generations will look back on the traders and dopes of this one great nation, and wonder why people that had so much could so easily let is slip away through ineptitude and indifference.

The government intervention was a loan, that has been paid back. A company doesn't become part of the government, or publically owned, when it takes a public loan that it pays back. This isn't a subtle kind of thing. This is really simple.

What could this woman have to say that is worth 400K? Sounds like more kickbacks for past crimes. She has zero experience in financial matters. She is a glorified housewife.

Ron Paul had 6 of his relatives on his campaign staff even when he had no opponent to campaign against!

By your rationale, anything that GS does from now until the end of time is at taxpayers expense. This argument is childish and obviously flawed. For all you know, GS has paid former Republican officials for speeches as well.

Instead of whining about this, you should be complaining that we still don't have financial regulations with teeth. The fault of that lies not with Democrats, but House Tea Baggers.

Really because Obama promised hope and change.. and not one person..NOT ONE is in jail from the greatest financial calamity ever thrust upon this nation. Contrast that with when Reagan was in office, the Savings and LOans crisis when Reagan was in office, over 800 ceos went to jail over it. But all is well since Goldman Sachs was Obamas largest campaign contributor.I get it.

FACT... If not for taxpayer bailout money Goldman Sachs would have never survived. Fact.. If not for Goldman Sachs obtaining "bank" status..thus enabling it to get free money from the Fed, and being able to dissolve itself of bad debts..it would not have survived. I bet you think GS is a "bank" LMFAO. It's a large hedge fund..Whens the last time you've seen a GS ATM ? But because they were your Messiahs largest contributor you turn a blind eye.. Shame on you.

Obamas financial legacy= Not one person in jail from the financial arena.. Nice...

Charging people with crimes when you don't have a solid case really doesn't do a lot. You can't send people to jail for not following regulations that didn't exist. It's not only the Obama administration that is able to charge people. If there were cases to be made, you'd see charges on a state level as well. You dont'.

In terms of your 'facts', you don't provide proof of any of them. Goldman may very well have made it through the recession fine without government intervention. The money they got was forced upon them.

Please don't assume anything that I think. You're the one here making posts that make no sense. Not one person in jail? Perhaps you should go read up on that a little since you're so fond of 'facts'. You could outline who should be charged, what's the likelihood of them being convicted and why haven't they been charged with anything by the feds or at a state level.

You could then look into who's been trying to push financial regulations since this mess happened and who has been paid to stop these efforts.

You could then also stop and think of whether or not it was Obama in office when the seeds to the Great Recession were set and when it started.

Then you can come back and start a thread that actually makes sense instead of just whining like the rest of the CINO's around here.

Remember, Hillary was a senator from NY. She has lots and lots of friends in high places, including GS.

It is not entirely clear GS needed a bail out. Regardless, Goldman repaid TARP with interest in 2009.

In any event, aspiring, active and prior politicians command huge fees on the speaker circuit. It's the American way.

Hillary Clinton isn’t alone: Former politicians rake it in on speaker circuit

And then there's Palin: ( note this is from 2010)

Palin's 22 year old daughter of reality TV fame, commands $30,000 to speak.
