No it's not the government it's the "cloud" who has all you info and the government steals it. Well they force the IP boys to give up their encryption keys to get it. They are populating their facial recognition database as we speak with all the dummies posting pictures all over the web. Just a matter of time.............if you don't comply you wont' go to a gulag but to facebook training. lol

No you're incorrect. No one puts their street address on facebook. And almost no one puts their phone number on facebook. Whitepages.com and other sites like that get their information from gov't sources. Most likely the post office, dmv, and/or local gov't departments.

LOL. People are stupid. They put everythign on facebook. Especially their pictures which is what they want. Oh yeah I get what your saying though the government doesn't protect our info. Hell that obamacare website is a treasure for the thieves and crooks. How easy will that be to hack??? Hell they can't even get it working yet. HIPPA? Who cares about HIPPA says the government who are supposed to enforce it.

Naturally, I'm okay with laws that punish sickos for publicizing nude pictures of people without the subject's permission to do so...

No matter WHAT y ou may have thought about the other person in a relationship, you trusted them, and that betrayal isn't a crime, in our country.

Now, on the other hand, if someone steals something that isn't theirs... and publishes it, that should be a crime.

50 years ago, using LSD was not a crime. Nor meth. Things change.

Do you try to blackmail or belittle your exes with this tactic?
There is no crime. It's two consenting adults and search for my comments explaining the legal differences between black-mail and extortion, and what constitutes both.....since I used to arrest turds for those offenses.

Legally...

Well I've read a few stories and I definitely think there is a crime somewhere in sending such crap to a persons employer, their childs school, their business associates, neighbors, etc. That's been done so it's not just a matter of posting pics on a porn site. And providing other people facebook, linkedin, phone numbers, addresses, etc. to go along with the pics is more than just posting a pic on a porn site. AND sometimes the pics are photoshopped, what the hell can you even do about that? Your minister, or your entire church, gets a naked picture of you...it's not you but they don't know that. There are ZERO safeguards to prevent you from being a target of that. None. Apparently I can take your face, shop it on a naked body doing something nasty, and put it on a billboard and claim "free speech". Nope, I'm not going to agree to that. It's a new frontier, and new laws ARE going to be made, because we suck as a society and can't monitor ourselves.

While I wholeheartedly agree that one way to avoid this is to NOT get naked for a camera in the first place it does seem to be a common thing for a lot of people today. Don't ask me, I disagree with it but folks will tell me I'm a prude and that it's perfectly fine and appropriate for couples to do this. It's hard to argue that it's ok then turn around and complain about this WHEN YOU KNOW HOW TO AVOID IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. The mixed messages people get about this kind of thing, men and woman, it astounding. And I doubt anyone would enter into a relationship with someone who seemed so off kilter as to do this sort of thing....but more people are crazy than not it seems.
