It was a law that put the federal government in charge of determining what constituted as proper health care coverage for the entire nation, telling an entire nation we can no longer decide which form health care will take to fit our needs and desires.
It was democrat politicians and bureaucrats in the federal government who decided health care must be provided by employers, even though a few years ago they were telling the special interest groups they wanted to end employer provided health care.
The ACA is not about reducing health care costs, or improving the quality of health care, it's just about forcing everyone to buy HHS approved insurance policies.
I think its the result of sloppy work on a complex issue because they want to hurry to pass it before they had to allow it put not their own. often happens when you start out want your vision only. The problem now is it never really had the support of people needed. To govern the key is you have to have consent of the governed.Obama seems to think more;they will get use to it in time whether they like it or not.Contrast that with Bush's Medicare drug plan where he consulted and got support from groups like AARP and many other group who do not normally support Republicans. In the end Teddy Kennedy stood alone against it really but was voted down.If you watched the senate markup in committee they would even allow more conservative democrats votes on amendments.
The answers are loaded (especially #3), and it appears that the OP is yet another person that doesn't have the capacity to understand that "care" and "insurance" are not interchangeable terms.
How you guys allowed yourselves to be manipulated into thinking that they're the same thing is beyond me. It takes a person with a very simple mind for that to happen.

They are not the same thing, I am pretty sure no one said they are, but they flow from one to the other.
It is hard to get the care one needs if they can't pay for it. Any more than money and food are remotely the same physical object. However, if you have no money it is hard to get the food you need to keep from starving.
Without money it's hard to go to the doctor, afford medications, or afford procedures for people who can barely afford to keep a roof over their heads. Trying to say health care is not the same thing as the ability to afford to have health care is disingenuous at best.
other, while i agree with the stated intentions of obamacare, affordable health insurance along with the elimination of preexisting conditions are good ideas. the problem though comes when you look deeper into the obamacare law and find that the only thing that obamcare does good is the elimination of the preexisting conditions clause. after that it just gets more expensive, and forces more government intrusion into the system, essentially giving the federal government control over the entire health care system in the US. obamacare will collapse under its own weight, and it will be catastrophic when it does.
