Is this supposed to prove something. You have no idea what was going on in that picture but yet you make assumptions. Personally, if I were Michele I would be jet lagged and want to go back to the hotel lol But that is the look I would make.

I can hear it now, "Oh, he's disrespecting Nelson Mandelas' memory.". "See, he is a racist.". "Oh, he's an embarassment to this country.".
How was this disrespecting the memory of Mandela when the days following his death, there was dancing and singing to celebrate the man's life? The memorial was held in the same celebratory spirit and it appears that the POTUS was totally aligned with the mood and atmosphere. It was the right wing that disrespected Mandela and what he stood for in the not so distant past and you'd know that if you were even somewhat knowledgable on the issue.

So the pic he posted of himself with Bono at the same event is different how?

Or should we just chalk your whine up to the usual suspect, RW Hypocrisy?

Obama could slap a baby on live TV and still retain the approval of his supporters, so who cares.

Obama could scratch his eyebrow and receive criticism and outrage from the people who hate everything he does.

I swear you people excuse everything this guy does!!
This was not a funeral, learn the difference between a memorial and funeral. A memorial is one in which you celebrate the life of the one who died. There is supposed to be lots of laughing and smiling. A funeral is one in which the deceased is buried and has lots of crying. Learn the difference.

The hypertensive right wingers aren't just the laughing stock of the country. They're the laughing stock of other countries as well.
The president and family should be role models, setting the examples, not going along with what others are doing. It would be a higher example for the daughter to sign in cursive (which is an actual signature), and for the president to be more dignified than to post "selfies" like a teenager on twitter.

My bookshelves sag with encyclopedic volumes arguing that America and the West are in decline. But proving that a picture is worth a thousand books, the “selfie” seen ’round the world ends the argument.
It’s official — the government of the United States of Obama consists of boobs and bores and is led by a narcissist. It is no consolation that Great Britain joins us in racing to the bottom.

President Obama’s flirting with Denmark’s prime minister would be shameful on any occasion. That it happened at the memorial for Nelson Mandela only adds to the embarrassment.
This says it all:

Churchill coined the term “special relationship” during World War II and used it again in his “Iron Curtain Speech” in 1946 that marked the unofficial start of the Cold War.

To him it meant our “kindred systems of society” must grow ever closer to provide mutual security and a framework for global peace. That special bond later cemented the Ronald Reagan-Margaret Thatcher partnership that led to the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Try to imagine any of those four embarrassing their nations by acting like indulgent teenagers while civilization hung in the balance. You can’t because they wouldn’t.

I made the same point in an earlier thread, we expect more from the president of the US then to act like our teenage girls, giggling and snapping selfies at a Justin Bieber concert.

The Obamas can go to the Mardi Gras, but we would not expect Michelle to be flashing her boobs for beads, nor Barack tossing beads to young gals for doing the same. In other words, just because other folks are acting like fools at an event does not mean it gives our president an excuse to do so.

Or every other American that uses twitter. Does it bother you that every politician has a twitter account?
