Why pay $10 for a movie ticket to see more stuff about the war when we can watch it for free on CNN.
What Mark Cuban should have done was pledge to donate the money raised from the ticket sales towards some war related fund.
Besides hes worth a couple of BILLION, so I hardly think that a flop at the box office is really going to put a dent in his pocketbook.

I think the point being made is there isn't this enormous majority of people out there who adamantly oppose the war,it might actually be the opposite.

Must REALLY be a flop, since I live in Dallas and usually if Mark Cuban farts, it makes the evening news...and I've never even heard of this movie.

I can't imagine a more uniformed "commentary" than the one that started this thread.

1) DePalma has a significant film making history of various types of movies and he is hardly a political activist.

2) A documentary style is a format of movie telling that has been done on occasion for decades. It's not meant to fool anyone, it's meant to be a format of telling a story in a less glossy hollywood way.

3) I think I saw one promo for this film - that means it wasn't in a lot of theaters. Does your (unposted) link from Drudge or __insert rightwing site here___ mention how many screens it was on? Probably not as many as the big holiday movies.....

4) you can look up Hollywood's long list of movies that fit the "mold" you seem to prefer.

And aside from that, the OP is the usual type, demonstrating a lack of basic history and reality in general.

In any case, it seems that some can't handle a story that requires the thought process of someone older than a child. Maybe G.I Joe is on TV.

Nah. Americans are weary of over-paid, over-rated anti-war celebrities and don't go see their movies....

"The Green Berets" (1968) starring John Wayne
The Green Berets - Trailer - Showtimes - Cast - Movies - New York Times
//
Wayne plays the hard-nosed rough-and-ready Colonel Mike Kirby who heads a courageous bunch of tough-as-nails Green Berets determined to capture an important enemy general. They are accompanied by a skeptical reporter who soon becomes a gung-ho red-white-and-blue patriot as the Colonel and the others lecture and show him why they must defeat the "commies." Interestingly, despite the massive anti-war sentiments of the times, the film grossed over $11 million at the box-office and is especially notable for the fine battle scenes.
//

Public sentiment is not always accurately reflected by a film's box office.
