Alright to be fair now, what exactly is a "real woman" then? This is the year 2013, both sexes are supposed to be totally equal I remember.
I was JUST going to post something like this. I guess a "real" woman for these insecure men is a chick with big ****, blonde hair, skinny, speaks quietly, is meek, stays home & takes care of the house, breeds like a rabbit, bows down to her man.
I seriously doubt Bill Gates or Obama can do too many of those "manly" things like fix cars or throw a straight punch but they have more power than a whole lot of tough guys. So, unless the apocalypse occurs and we go back to a hunter-gatherer lifestyle "soft" guys and guys that are metro-sexual looking will continue to run the world and you tough real men will continue to work for them.
I think this explains a lot of the doomsdayer fantasy-fetishists around here.
The lack of real economic and political power in society amongst "burly aggressive blue collar men" makes them crave and secretly hope for a time where their skills will be more valuable than what society currently rewards with power.
In the survivalist world, people will look to them for leadership, but right now, it's relegation to the bottom rung. The only thing they can cling to is an outdated feeling of being "more manly" than the office dwelling lawyers and bankers, academics and scientists that hold the power.
I see several people complaining about men wearing tight pants. Before, they were complaining about the hip-hop baggy pants and oversized shirts.

I know right? They're like a bunch of naggy gossipy women!
They may think they want them in college but they get wise once they enter the real world. No intelligent woman wants a man that is going to hide behind them when they get mugged.
Sure thing, toots. What every married woman wants is an insensitive man who refuses to help her prepare dinner or do other womens' work. The like jocks who crush beer cans against their foreheads while watching football and yelling for another sandwich.
They may think they want them in college but they get wise once they enter the real world. No intelligent woman wants a man that is going to hide behind them when they get mugged.
Their 'real world' probably won't involve muggings. Women are attracted to power, it's true. In the white-collar world that means the guy who makes the rules, calls the shots, and makes the money. He's the one at the top of the food chain in urban America - not the guy with brute strength laying pipes for a living.
However, in rural America - that brute strength might be valued higher.
I look all around me, in my college town, and on TV, and see pretty boys who think that they have to dress like a fashion model, shave their chest and sport a six pack to get female attention. The mass media as a whole shoves this culture down the throat of the American male. Men were Connery, Stallone, the Duke, Willis not that long ago. Now Efron, Patterson, Beckham and DiCaprio are supposed to be masculine examples? Hell NO. Every time I see men in TV ads, I want to throw up. If you want a microcosm of how men have become less than men, TV ads denigrating men and glorifying women are the perfect example. Daddy or Hubby is always so clueless and dumb needing the woman to tell him what to do.
The indoctrination to woosie boy begins young. Primary education does everything in its power to turn boys into neuters. Boys are given Ritalin so that their natural aggressiveness, curiosity and restlessness can be controlled, instead of nurtured and directed. In college, female values such as sensitivity, socialization, and cooperation, are fostered and put up on a pedestal instead of teaching hard facts and critical thinking.
Do young women really want these woosie men? Why are men falling for this garbage?
I can assure you, texan2yankee that there are still MANY real men out there. You have to get out of the cities and out into the country but they are there in the form of farm boys and cowboys. Fortunately, these boys are too busy working and having too much fun riding horses and bulls and tractors to waste their lives watching sub-par television shows.
With any luck, there will be a backlash eventually and the metrosexual, gay-wannabe stereotype will fall away and we will have real men again. In the mean time, I feel incredibly sorry for city girls who have to deal with their boyfriends borrowing their tweezers to pluck his eyebrows. LOL
