It is not coming here but is already here and very well entrenched.

You should familiarize yourself with Fabian socialism and the progressive/socialist movement of the late 19th and early 20th century in the US, UK and Western Europe. Then you'd understand one thing - socialism is here. Maybe not to some degree you have envisioned to make it qualify for Stalinism or Maoism, but it's here, entrenched, and rock solid.

I love these false dilemma scoldings, as if pure Stalinist totalitarianism is the one and only measure of socialism. Seriously, read a history book.

It's somewhat amusing to see you guys discuss fiction as if it were real.

No, it's not a "false dilemma", really it's not.

It's just a "muddy the waters with noise and irrelevant posturing" spin effort.

Maybe people would take you neo-Confederates a tiny bit more seriously if you knew the definitions of the words you use so often
" the scaremongering right-" "When you keep your cool when everyone else loses theirs, maybe YOU haven't grasped the situation,"

Better then whinny left who wouldn't know socialist ideas if it bit them on the ass.

How so? Do you know the difference between communism, socialism, and social democracy? Socialism is incompatible with capitalism, and capitalism in the US is very much alive and well.
"or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods"

Fits ObamaCare to a tee.

Well, there is one thing we know for sure: You don't know the definitions of words. You should find out what "Progressivism" is. Hint: it has nothing to do with progress of technology, or improving the conditions of man, as some seem to believe in their arguments, always claiming that we want to "go back to the days before so many technological advances' (this may have been you, in another thread).

You might also get your hands on the book, "The Road to Serfdom" by F. A. Hayek and read it. Your knowledge of what this modern trend is, "Progressivism," seems to be lacking.

There are startling similarities between the rhetoric, the clichés, used by todays "progressives" and the socialists of the European countries of the last century. "Social justice," "economic justice," "income inequality, etc., etc. These are not new terms. They have been used by socialists in the past.

Sticking your head in the sand does not make one immune from falling prey to those with evil intent. Those who suffered under Hitler all supported him at one time.

Fox News? What does Fox News have to do with any of this?

I knew it! This is just another bash Fox, bash conservatives, thread.
